I was arrested because of false allegations,police found they were not true.I want this in writing.How do i get a letter from police saying allegations against me were false?
Depends on where you are. In the U.S., most states have a way for you to expunge the record, which means you go to a court and file for expungment, and all agencies with records of it must send the court the records and remove anything that identifies you from things like computer records.





Most places, a police report from a closed case, one not prosecuted or already disposed, is public record, and you have to request a copy in writing from the agency. I suggest the expungment route. Then, in effect, it never happened, and it won't come up on criminal history checks. A lawyer can do it for you pretty reasonable. Shop it around. You can do it yourself, if you find the right forms. One way to do that is to ask the clerk of the court where these are filed in your state to sell you a copy of any previous petition and use that as a guide. And that's better than a report that merely says they couldn't substantiate the charge, rather than definitely showing it was false information. In Canada, most police departments will NOT issue a letter stating allegations were false. There is no statutory requirement to provide such in Canada and the civil implications are too great (police act on the info at hand and when an allegation is proven false it is not the police but the original complainant who have acted inappropriately). If you were not charged and only arrested, then your criminal record will not reflect this arrest.





Should you still want some documentation, you can apply through your provincial FOIP access point to obtain a copy of the police file.
The only way this would be possible is to get in touch with your solicitor (lawyer) who attended the police station when you were arrested,he/she will be able to obtain a notification from the police that ';no further action is to be taken';failing this you may be able to obtain this notification yourself,there will however,be a record on a system somewhere stating why you were arrested along with the accusations,this will be on file for some time in case the same allegation is repeated at a later date,whichever way you decide to approach this you would be wise to get legal advice,because you will get so many different suggestions on here and you will not get any further forward,good luck.
if you go to the police station and speek to tae aristion officer he/she will give it to you in writing but if it was false it wouldn go on ur record so i wouldn bother about it

In the UK just send a letter to the chief constable with the details dates ECT and request a letter stating the facts about the false allegations Takes time mind.
If you are in the UK, write and ask the question. They should write to you with the answer. If that doesn't work, make the request under the Freedom of Information Act. They are then obliged to answer by law.
I dont know if it helps, but the fact you were arrested can never be erased. It may cause problems at borders (U.S.).
