What happens when you have a false tooth fitted?

Eventually i will need to have a implant put in. I've had braces with a spring to create the space for it but i was wondering how they put the implant in ? Do you need to go under sedation ?What happens when you have a false tooth fitted?
Having a false implant tooth is actually a simple procedure. There is no need for sedation unless you are extremely terrified of going to the dentist. The dentist will numb the area with anesthetic. Then a minor surgery is done to place the implant (kind of looks like a screw) in the bone (this does not hurt as you are numb). Afterwards, your bone will heal around the implant for several months. There may be some mild sorness for the first couple days. Most people encounter no problems following the implant surgery. Months after that, a crown (part of the tooth that you see in the mouth) is attached to the implant. You can see pics of the implant, and the crown on top on my website: http://www.bcdentalcare.ca/CosmeticDenti鈥?/a>What happens when you have a false tooth fitted?
Local anesthetic I would think. Why on earth didn't you ask you dentist? You are a customer and as such he will be pleased to tell you!
