Is it illegal to give false information about the election?

Say someone were to publish flyers saying that the election was going to be held on the wrong day, at a place that wasn't an actual polling place. Could they be prosecuted?





I know it's immoral and unethical and all that, I just want to know if it's considered illegal.Is it illegal to give false information about the election?
