What is the difference between false peace passeth all understanding and true peace gets it: understanding?

1Thessalonians 5:3-9

I don't want their peace and safety that passeth all understanding.

I want the understanding that brings both internal %26amp; eternal peace.

Proverbs 4:7-9

I don't want their law and odor: pew, it's an awful smell of death.

I want a crown of grace that comes by embracing understanding. What is the difference between false peace passeth all understanding and true peace gets it: understanding?
Understanding doesn't bring peace. It can lead that direction, but it's not automatic. Wisdom can bring fulfillment, but not happiness. Certainly not grace.

Peace and grace operate outside of intellectual pursuits, outside of wisdom. They're not incompatible, and they go well together--but one doesn't cause the other.

Rather like prayer and song. They blend nicely, but striving to be good at one won't bring the other, no matter how many people you've seen do both. Or how many do one badly, thinking they've got the other so it doesn't matter.
