What's the difference between braxton hicks and false contractions? What do they feel like?

From what I've read before I think I've heard with braxton hick your abdomen tightens, but you feel no pain. With false contractions you actually feel pain. Is that correct? And what kind of pain is it in your abdomen? Does it feel like a stomach ache? What's the difference between braxton hicks and false contractions? What do they feel like?
No, they are one and the same. Braxton Hicks are common contractions during pregnancy. Sometimes they're uncomfortably strong and you may think you're in labor.

Oh, and I got in trouble from my doctor for not drinking enough water. She said that's why I was having Braxton Hicks.

If you relax and drink a lot of water, they should go away. If not, call the doctor because it could possibly be true labor.

On the other hand, sometimes true labor contractions aren't very painful. BH can easily be confused with true labor. I had 2 friends who thought they were having Braxton Hicks contractions when they were actually in labor. If it's true labor, nothing you do will stop the contractions. What's the difference between braxton hicks and false contractions? What do they feel like?
Braxton hicks can hurt but not as much as true labour. They are usually irregular as well.

True contractions are painful and regular lasting for 60 seconds in duration fetting more and more frequent and painful
braxton hickes is painful but it is just like stomch cramps it doesn't hurt as much as labor.
braxton hicks are false contractions. there shouldn't be pain with either. but they can be uncomfortable. if you exercise or walk a long distance sometimes you will notice your stomach tighten up really hard. it should let up in a little while. if this is a second or more pregnancy you're more likely to feel them. sometimes if it's a first pregnancy, you don't even notice them
LABOUR PAINS:Have you ever had a charlie horse in your calve muscle??? Well imagine that happening to your stomache muscles...tighten and release..tighten and release.

Is it painful??? HELL YEAH

Braxton Hicks is your body's way of pre-preparing for labour..feels crampy and uncomfortable... but of course everyone is different and each has different levels of pain tolerance.
